Why? Because we weren’t processing enough Scratch Cards and Lottery tickets to meet their minimum turnover requirements. It was largely due to Ron’s considerable powers of persuasion, and the fact that we could be assessed as a community service, that we managed to retain this important part of our business. This indicates how fragile things can be – but how easily resolved. The future is in our own hands. We know the internet can be more convenient, or buying tickets and scratch cards elsewhere if you are out shopping, but if you could use the facility in you village shop, it would secure it’s retention in the future.
